Three Little Pigs and the Wolf Activity

Three Little Pigs and the Wolf Activity

The story of the Three Little Pigs is one of young kids' favorite stories to read in class.

"I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll bloooowww your house down!" yelled the big wolf.

The kids get really excited when we all pretend to be the wolf and try to blow the house down. We admit, as teachers it's pretty fun for us too!

A bonus is how all the deep breaths help calm the kids down 🙂

After listening to the read aloud, this packet is a great activity for your students to do. The kids

  1. Use their creativity to decorate their own houses. There are two house versions to choose from (flat houses or round houses).
  2. Retell their version of the story. It’s so fun to see the kids acting out the story. They act out the roles of the brave little pigs and the cunning wolf.

We created a lesson around problem solving and the importance of working together. We talked about how the pigs working in collaboration helped all of them. You can extend the lesson by encouraging deeper thinking by inviting kids to create alternative endings or unique adaptations of the story.

The following sentence starter was written on the board:

After the Wolf ran away, the 3 Little Pigs ______________

Some of the kids responses:

The 3 Little Pigs build a fort made of cemet and ribbons.

The 3 Little Pigs lived on a speed boat and could get away fast if the Wolf came again.

The 3 Little Pigs got a rocket so they could send the Wolf into space when he came back.

Kids and their imaginations! Bring "The Three Little Pigs" to life with this packet, featuring adorable pig characters, the Big Bad Wolf, scenes, and play props. It's a fantastic way to extend learning after reading the story.
